Guest Bio:
Zaji Cox’s dual talents in writing and dance were evident almost from birth. Since writing her first short story at age nine, Zaji has written and self-published other books of nonfiction and poetry. Her mixed-genre memoir, Plums for Months, explores the self-discovery and challenges of a neurodivergent child growing up mixed race on the outskirts of Portland, Oregon. Zaji is also a competitive gymnast-turned-dancer, first pirouetting across the stage at age 13, and performing professionally with ballet and contemporary dance companies. Today, she continues to write, focuses on solo dance projects, and enjoys experimenting with combining art forms, often blending writing and dance.
